Practical Shooting Championship Round 8

The final round of the Silverstone Practical Shooting Championship took place on the 13th December, which had a total of 8 Christmas themed stages. Each stage was created to cater for mini rifle, LBP and 2 gun. Shooters arrived to some complimentary minced pies to begin the days shooting. A few shooters turned up in some rather loud Christmas jumpers, bringing a little Christmas spirit to the competition with them.

The stages for this round were spread out over our two skills houses, the 10m range, the 50m range and the tubular range. One of the stages start positions caused some amusement as it entailed sitting on the upstairs toilet in one of our skills houses! A stage on the 50m range involved a bit of a memory test, with targets being hidden behind certain doors. This proved a challenging shoot by adding a different dynamic to the stage. The stage in the tubular range proved somewhat tricky for most, with varying distances and lighting being enough to put even some seasoned shooters off.

Some great stages in this match, adding to another enjoyable shoot here at Silverstone Shooting Centre. Overall winner of the match was Mike Harvey, and overall winner of the Championship was Waldek Mickiewcz. Of the 7 rounds that took place, the best 5 rounds for each shooter counted to the final score.
We hope you all have a very merry Christmas and look forward to shooting with you all again in the new year.
